Family Reunions
I remember being dragged to the family reunions every year when I was growing up.  As a matter of fact, my parents have always been a strong force behind keeping the reunion going all of these years.

I don't remember appreciating the reunions very much.  I know I liked the games.  I had a lot of fun with my cousins.  I didn't have time for the old folks, though.

Now so many of the old ones are gone.  How I wish I would have taken the time to get to know them....  to listen to their stories...   to ask them about my family.  So many opportunities were lost because of my youthful arrogance.  Little did I know that I would long to talk with these people at least one more time--maybe twice--maybe three times..

Don't miss an opportunity to talk to the elderly members of your family.  They store in their hearts - your history.

************************************  REUNIONS  *************************************

Shuster / Tressel / Wingate Family Reunion - Bolivar, Tuscarawas County
This reunion is for ALL of the descendants of Daniel and Margaret Shuster of Baden Baden, Germany, Washington County, PA and Tuscarawas County, OH.  This includes descendants of George and Catherine (Shuster) Tressel, as well as descendants of Samuel and Sarah (Tressel) Wingate (my husband's line).

The first reunion was held in Ada, OH in Sept 1904.  It was moved to Tuscarawas County sometime in the 1920's.  The reunion has been held continuously and may very well be one of the oldest family reunions in existence.  And it keeps getting better every year.  You won't want to miss the next one.  Make your plans to attend.  It will Sunday, Aug 8 2010.  This is going to be a two-day event with activities to help you get to know - YOUR FAMILY!  Too cool!

McElroy Family Reunion - Ada, Hardin County
This reunion is for descendants of  William White and Susan (Brooks) McElroy

McCartney Family Reunion - North Baltimore, Wood County
This reunion is for the descendants of Grover and Sarah (Koons) McCartney.  Grover and Sarah were killed in a car/train accident in 1933.  They left 11 orphaned children.  It is a great tribute to Grover and Sarah that they still get together every year.

Koons Family Reunion - Fostoria, Seneca County
The descendants of John Henry and Jane (Coots) Koons have been meeting in the park at Fostoria since the 1930's.

Ebenezer Wingate Family Reunion - Kenton, Hardin County
As the name implies, this reunion is for the descendants of Ebenezer and RueAnn (Cummins) Wingate.  Ebenezer was a son of Samuel and Sarah (Tressel) Wingate.  2005 was the first year for the reunion, and we are hopeful that it will continue as a tradition.  56 people attended - what a great start!

Reichenbach Family Reunion - North Baltimore, Wood County
Descendants of Gottlieb and Fredericka (Sweitzer) Reichenbach are all invited to attend.  For further information, please contact
