John Reichenbach was born on 11 Sep 1811 in Switzerland.  He met and married Margaret Von Gunten, who was born in March of 1811.  This worthy couple were the parents of 9 children - 7 boys and 2 daughters.  They included:  Gottlieb, Ferdinand, Henry, Alfred, Edward, Harriett, Eloise, Uslysses and Frederick.  John died 3 Oct 1880, and Margaret died in Apr 1883.  Both of them are buried at the Mennonite Cemetary Richland Twp, Allen County, Ohio.

Five of their sons left Canton, Neuchatel, Switzerland working their way to America on cattleboats. They arrived in America at the New York harbor in 1866. After settling in Wayne County, Ohio. for a short time, they traveled to Putnam County. With hard work they saved their money to buy land, clearing the land and using the timber to build houses and outbuildings in the area of other Swiss settlers in Riley Twp., near Pandora, Ohio.  In 1873 the brothers put money together to bring their parents and their sisters Harriet and Eloise to America.

Among those brothers were Gottleib, Ulysses and Alfred.  Most of my information is about those three men and their descendants.
